Have you heard the news?
Sherwin Williams has announced their 2022 color of the year!
Evergreen Fog SW 9130
Sherwin Williams really outdid themselves with this pick! I think the world was ready for a color that brings a little dash of calm as we prepare for 2022. This color does just that!
This color is stunning mix of green and gray. Subtle enough to add as a neutral to any room, but just enough character to not be boring. And I love the way it brings a little inspiration from nature into every space.
Where am I most excited about using this color in my next few projects?
1) Bathrooms
I LOVE a spa-like bathroom. Who doesn't?!
Clean white towels next to this green-gray hue sounds like the best match for that spa-like environment. I would love to see this paint color paired with a few natural wood elements!
2) Bedrooms
I don't know about you, but I love a peaceful bedroom! There were times where I wanted my decor in my bedroom to have a little edge, a high contrast in color, and a place that felt like the best of my design work. The past 2 years I have had a change in heart! As the world changed and so many things felt chaotic, I wanted a place of peace.
Our bedroom is now a place where neutral cool colors steal the show and a green-gray accent wall is the perfect addition! But don't worry, I haven't completely given up my edginess. Now it's just done in more subtle ways, like this wall sconce with a touch of black and gold. We love these lights! Just enough drama against our green-gray accent wall!
3) Entryways
For those of us in the PNW, this seems like a perfect choice for an entryway transition color. The subtle green tone is the perfect balance as you come in from the beauty outdoors. I could see this color behind an entry table, in the back of a bookshelf, or even in wainscoting.
The best thing about this color? It pairs with both cool and warm palettes.
